Dear Parents and Guardians:
Grad Night's next meeting is October 15th at UPTOWN ESPRESSO, "Home of the Velvet Foam", 7 pm (Edmunds and California Ave). This is an open meeting, as are all our meetings, to anyone who wishes to find out more. Under class parents are urged to attend. Grad Night 2010 is a really fun event. Come and meet other parents. We do work hard but we do have fun at our meetings, too!
Meeting schedule:
FALL SUMMIT: Grad Nights, the company we are partnering with, is inviting five parents to go to their Fall Summit, October 29th at the Lake Union Cafe on Eastlake. We definitely want to fill every seat we have been allowed - and we especially would like to invite/ascertain at least one or two junior class parents. Email Carol Viger cviger@comcast.net. CURRICULUM NIGHT - THURSDAY, OCTOBER 8TH: Grad Night will staff a table. We will be actively selling tickets and promoting Grad Night. Please respond with a confirmation to this email whether or not we have your permission to post your student's name on the reserved ticket list. If you/your student has earned credit for a Grad Night ticket at either the July or August Car Wash, the student's ticket has been reserved (in-lieu of a cash deposit) and will be on that list with your permission. Please confirm if it is ok to post their name, OR if you DO NOT wish to have their name posted, as we wish to give full disclosure to all parent's at Cirriculum Night that tickets are in fact dissappearing. Please consider sending in your non-refundable $25.00 if you intend to deposit ASAP. (Mail to WSHS PTSA, 3000 California Ave. 98116, or call Catha Elder 941-7490 but we have to have $25.00 or credit to put your student on the reserved ticket.) It is our goal to have all or as many as possible of our students enjoy Grad Night 2010, as the more the merrier and we want all students to be safe on Grad Night. The sooner we know how many students we will have the better we will be able to plan and fundraise. Unfortunately, we will at some point reach capacity.
However, your deposit will secure your student's ticket at this point. The deposit is non-refundable. We are asking for suceeding payments to be paid in full by February 1st, full ticket price is $150.
BARNES AND NOBLE will be at Curriculum Night to explain how the Bookfair for Grad Night 2010 works and to promote our next Bookfair November 27th - 29th. Use Voucher Number 10001303 for in-store purchases on the bookfair valid days to route $$$ back to WSHS PTSA Grad Night...ANY Barnes and Noble, store, not just Westwood. Please share the voucher # 10001303 and please pass it on and tell everyone you know. Ask grandma in New York to use it, it will work at her Barnes and Noble on these days, too (but not on-line purchases). If you have to order a book in the store and have it shipped, it should still work on those days. This is free money (10 - 15%!!) for Grad Night, and it is the biggest shopping day/weekend of the year. Please plan ahead to use this voucher number on these dates to do the shopping you would have done for the holidays anyway. Your senior class will thank you! - Not valid for certain merchandise such as magazines, BN memberships, gift cards. Funds returned to WSHS GN fund will go to scholarships, activity add-ons, miscellaneous food cost, busses, etc.
